Ok so if you don’t know Razer they’re a very hit or miss brand, their products are either poorly designed or one of the most memorable of all time. The Razer Threshers are in the latter camp, I’ll start with potential cons since I know they’re not for everyone:1) On the heavier side, these headsets are rather large and heavy because of the 50mm drivers, so if wearing heavier headphones affects you keep this in mind.2) Very bass-heavy, Razer are in the camp that sets their headsets closer to the bass side, I absolutely love it but I know not everybody does.3) Similar to #1 but these headphones are larger, the clamp is more so on the top than the sides and are designed for larger heads. If you have a smaller head these may not be for you, you’d be better off with a Steelseries (7x or 9X are excellent too and better equipped for smaller heads).4) The headphone cups tend to heat up your ears over time, so long gaming sessions can make you notice that.5) The cords going into the drivers are actually a little exposed, I don’t really like this since that means they have a higher chance of getting damaged. I had my first pair of these for almost 3 years though without them getting damaged so maybe my worry is just superficial (my dog got to them, otherwise I’d still have my first pair).Ok so that’s all the bad, most of which are nitpicks and just details as to who this headset is best suited for. Now onto the good:1) Sound quality is better than most headsets IMO, at 28kHz they have crisper audio compared to the industry standard if 20kHz, there’s only a handful of headsets that match or best this audio.2) Comfort; because of my larger head, this headset is absolutely the most comfortable pair I’ve ever worn, the only ones close to this are the Nari’s (also Razer), the Arctic 9X and the HyperX headsets. In particular, the top part just melds with your head without you needing to adjust it, I absolutely adore this.3) Design. I always look at these as absolutely stunning in terms of build quality, while most of it is plastic it somehow just looks so much more durable than it is, this headset is a bit older but wipes the floor compared to headsets made around the 2017 times.4) Longevity. I cannot say this any more than I already have to people asking me what headset lasts the longest, like I said earlier my first pair lasted me 3 years and would’ve lasted probably double that if not for my dog. There was slight wearing down of the leatherette ear cushions but replacements only run about $20 or so and I didn’t even end up replacing them before they got chewed up. Now, I will preface that I treat my stuff very well, I don’t throw or hit them, or yank them around. These took a few moves and drops, but otherwise they were worn and carried, or just rested somewhere charging.-These do take a bit to fully charge and make an annoying beeping sound every 10 seconds or so once the battery is low-The earpieces swivel fairly easily so keep that in mind when grabbing them-When first turned on it takes about 5 seconds or so to get your first audio input.-These are not noise canceling headphones, the ear cushions are massive and just naturally block out some noise, and the volume is certainly good enough at overpowering any external sounds from coming through, but these do not actually have any tech or engineering to actively cancel noise.
