Description

The WR-R11a is a Wireless Remote Controller that uses radio frequencies to wirelessly control the shutter release on Nikon cameras or radio-controlled flash units such as the SB-5000 Speedlight. The WR-R11a fits cameras with a 10 pin connector. The WR-R11a can be triggered by a WR-T10 Wireless Remote Controller (transmitter), a WR-1 Wireless Remote Controller; it can also be used on a designated master camera to trigger up to 64 transceiver units. Three radio frequency channels are available for use (5, 10, and 15) to prevent interference when multiple pairings or photographers are shooting in one location. Photographers can use the WR-T10 or WR-1 to simultaneously release the shutter on multiple cameras that have a WR-R11a unit attached and have been paired with the WR-T10/WR-1

Features

Range (line of sight) from the WR-T10 to WR-R11a is 66 feet (20 meters).

Range (line of sight) from WR-R11a (acting as a master unit) to WR-R10 or WR-11a/b units is 164 feet (50 meters).

Up to 18 Speedlights can be paired to the WR-R11a on the camera.

Communication distance between the WR-R11a on the camera and the Speedlight is approx. 98 ft. (30 meters).

Compatible With Z 7II & Z 6II Cameras. The WR-11a comes with a small strap that can be used to connect the unit to the camera strap for convenience.

I waffled over sending my WR-R10 to one of the two Nikon repair sites for modification that the pandemic hit and Nikon's web-site had disclaimers about time delays, so I never followed through in sending the device to Nikon. The WR-R11a works just fine. It will fire my speedlight from 100 feet away (as far as I tested it) with no problem. It paired easily with the speedlight and the WR-T10 that I already owned.
